Does My Watch Have to Match My Belt and Shoes?

From the first time that I first received a Timex Mickey Mouse watch from my mom and dad (circa '80s), I've always been told that the watch strap and the entire watch in general must follow the color of one's (1) Belt and (2) Shoes as well as (3) Bags and accessories.

Flash-forward to 30 plus years in the future, I had the chance to be with some of today's hottest online fashion+styling blogging sensations David Guison, Lissa Kahayon, Camille Co and Myx VJ Joyce Pring in a grueling two-day photo and video shoot in BGC for a fashion project for the biggest watch retailer in the country that simply erased my belief about matching watches with what you are wearing.

The bottom line is, watches now can be made a focal point in one's outfit. It doesn't have to strictly match color-for-color with what you are wearing. It serves as an accent to the overall look you are trying to achieve --- it is a statement of your lifestyle, your passions, your personality.

Go ahead break the stereotype. Pictures of the actual shoot coming soon!
